A teacher must show utmost commitment towards bettering a student. Learning is an ever progressing quest for self-betterment in the story of one’s life. Knowledge is the foundation for every aspect of life and understanding. Education is what one takes away from every learned experience. Everyday one should reflect upon what they learned that day.

I received a Bachelor of Humanities degree from the University of Victoria with a major in history, minor in film studies, and elective in creative writing, literature, theatre, and cultural studies. I have a TESL Canada certificate, which I received from Victoria International Academy. I received teacher training from Korean Board of Education and English First Jakarta. I am also a graduate of Frances Kelsey Secondary School, class of 2004.

I have three years of ESL teaching experience (all ages and abilities) at large private language centers in Medan and Jakarta, Indonesia. I tutored students of all abilities (including TOEFL and IELTS classes) in English in Indonesia. I spent one year teaching ESL for the Korean Ministry of Education at an all boys private middle school and a public co-ed school in rural South Korea. I also served as a volunteer teacher at at an elementary school in the Philippines.

I’m a fan of hiking, swimming, kayaking, and going to concerts and theatre. I have certificates in scuba diving and sailing. I enjoy reading and creative writing. I have traveled to twenty countries.
