EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that the mastery of basic reading, writing and mathematical skills is essential to the pursuit of academic studies, occupational training, and personal intellectual enrichment.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
My undergraduate and graduate university studies were in the fields of History, Education, and Business Management. Pursuing course work in these fields involved application of reading, writing, and mathematical skills gained during my high school and undergraduate university years.
I have a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in geography from Stanford University. I also hold a master of arts degree from Stanford, a master of science degree from Golden Gate University, and a doctorate degree from the University of California Los Angeles.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Lecturer in History, California State University, Northridge; Lecturer to Associate Professor of History, San José State University; Lecturer in History, California State University, East Bay; Instructor in Technical Writing, Condie College; Substitute Teacher, Yavapai County (Arizona) Public Schools; Substitute Teacher, Acorn Montessori School (Arizona).
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am a member of the Yavapai Amateur Radio Club (Prescott, Arizona) and the Yavapai County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (Arizona). I also attend the Prescott YMCA (Arizona) and am a member of the Prescott Stamp Club (Arizona).
