Teaching requires a structured and safe environment in which students can learn. The teacher actively engages the student’s curiosity through student-to-teacher, student-to-content, and student-to-student interaction. When students feel comfortable in the learning environment and they are challenged in the content area, they usually thrive. The student should be learning at or near their instructional level.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Portland State University in Business Management. I also have a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Additionally, I have an ESOL certificate endorsement from Oregon State University, an E-Learning and Online Teaching Certificate from University of Wisconsin – Stout. I am currently in the process of completing my doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership.

I have four years experience teaching special education and ELL classes in K-12. I have 3 years teaching experience as a University Site Supervisor for Grand Canyon University. I have tutored after school for two years.

I am an avid hiker/ walker in the mountains surrounding Portland, Oregon and in the metropolitan area. I love to crochet for friends and family. I have recently taken up learning how to do HAM radio.
