Students continue on to discover how to carry out research on a topic and then to translate it into a form that would interest an audience. They learn how to write persuasively, develop their voice, and to edit and revise papers effectively.
The science curriculum includes the study of the sky. Students begin by looking at the sky and picking out objects. They then begin by studying objects they are familiar with such as the moon and the sun. To continue, they look at the stars, including their lives and how long it takes light to travel from the stars to Earth. Students study how explorers have used the stars to guide them and how these same stars can help travelers today. By studying the objects from the sky, students discover a different way of looking at items that surround them every day.
