Chalk Talk: Preparing for Middle School
Getting a child ready for middle school is an important step and they should be aware of what will be expected of them during this next stage. Parents will also want to stay connected with the child’s teacher. Check with them to see which way of communicating is best and make sure to let the teacher which type of notification is best if there is an issue or concern. At this time it is usually assumed that parents should have less interaction with the school, but staying in touch helps open the door in case there are concerns. Parents can help their children learn how to manage their time so that the most important tasks are addressed first. With these hints, parents may be able to help their children survive the transition to middle school more easily.
