Get Your Child Ready for PCA Assessments

SchoolTutoring Academy’s PCA Tutoring Programs start with an ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT with an Academic Director. This assessment informs your child’s PCA tutor about their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses so the tutoring program can be tailored to their specific needs. Our PCA Tutoring Program includes regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.

Understanding
PCA Assessments

Prince Edward Island’s education system requires that all students take Provincial Common Assessments (PCA) in grades 3, 6, 9, and 11. In grade 3, students take the Primary Literacy Assessment (PLA) and Primary Mathematics Assessment (PMA). Likewise, grade 6 students take the Elementary Literacy Assessment (ELA) and Elementary Mathematics Assessment (EMA). From that point, students only take Mathematics assessments via the Intermediate Mathematics Assessment (IMA) in grade 9 and the Secondary Mathematics Assessment (SMA) in grade 11. For more information on these assessments you can visit the Prince Edward Island website.
