Motivation is key to effective learning. I foster students’ curiosities and love for learning. If I am passionate about a subject, I believe it will encourage enthusiasm amongst my students. I think it is important to teach students to be critical thinkers and arm them with the skills they need for lifelong learning, rather than just transmit information to them.

My background is both theoretical and hands-on. I obtained an advertising degree at Humber College as well as Bachelor of Arts and Education degree at York University.

I have over 6 years of classroom teaching experience in Ontario and UK based schools. I have also done home tutoring, one-on-one and small group tutoring at tutorial schools. Most recently, I volunteered, teaching conversational English to adults in Brazil.

During my teaching career I have led student council and newspaper and writing clubs. In Malaysia, I organized and supervised a social action club in which students worked towards becoming better citizens. Activities included fundraising and volunteering with refugees. In my spare time I enjoy fitness activities, traveling and writing.
