About Me
SUBJECTS
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I have been teaching in traditional classrooms for over 10 years, and concurrently online for the last 5. What makes me successful as an instructor is that I do not adhere to one dominant teaching style. Rather, I have found that students respond best when the course requirements match their individual learning style. Encouraging students to think “out of the classroom” can assist them not only in becoming better students, but in becoming more critical thinkers in general.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (graduate of Campuswide Honors Program) from the University of California, Irvine, a Masters of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Southern California.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have over 10 years experience teaching in the classroom and 5 years experience teaching in online environments.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I belong to several book clubs, I love to bake, and I am very involved in volunteerism in my children’s schools. I also belong to one of the Guilds at CHOC, which organizes regular charity events to raise funds for CHOC.
