EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the atmosphere most conducive to learning is one that is open and friendly enough for students to feel comfortable asking questions. This is facilitated by a caring and passionate teacher, as well as a small student-to-teacher ratio.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

I finished my undergraduate degree with distinction from the University of Toronto. In search of a more unconventional educational experience, I chose to do my M.A. at the New School for Social Research over and against my offers from other schools more similar to the school I attended in Toronto.
Although nothing can be said on paper for my life experiences, I have had a lot of them, and they have been hugely supplemental to my education. This includes my heavy involvement in civic engagements and on-campus extracurricular activities such as clubs and Varsity sports teams.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently and online ESL tutor. I also guest-lecture at Hunter College at City of New York University. I am currently tutoring online in various subjects. I also have volunteer experience teaching children on poverty-stricken native reservations in Northern Canada.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

I currently volunteer for a food pantry and participate in three reading groups on my campus. During my undergraduate degree, I was the president of a student group, a nationally-competitive Varsity track athlete, and a member of three other clubs on campus. In high school, I accumulated over 500 community service hours, and I continued pursuing my drive for social justice at various soup kitchens throughout my undergraduate degree
