My educational philosophy is very student centred. I believe in going where the student needs to go, and appreciating that every learning need is different. My background in the public education system has given me an understanding that every child is able to succeed, needing only the right support and environment to do so.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Sociology from Simon Fraser University. I also received another Bachelor’s Degree in Education at the same institution.
I have been teaching in the classroom for 8 years, and have taught Grade 2 – Grade 7, all subjects. I also have experience teaching ESL and Special Needs through being a Resource teacher. Finally, I have tutored and taught ESL classes part time throughout these years, giving me extensive teaching experience.
I love the outdoors, including hiking, camping, and kayaking! I am also an avid reader, and enjoy good food. Most of all, I love spending time with my young son.
