A safe and engaging environment for students aids students’ success and performance. As the teacher, it is my responsibility to foster a positive relationship with the student and parents. Ongoing assessments are vital to help individualize student learning.

I have a Masters of Elementary Education Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Development. My undergraduate and graduate work reflects an emphasis in reading development. My professional development workshops and courses are attached for your review.

I have taught 16 years as full-time classroom teacher. In addition: 3 years working part time 1:1 with students as well as a small group tutor. Lastly, I have worked as a Reading Specialist, a private tutor, substitute teacher and as an humane education outreach teacher.

The majority of my extracurricular activities were school-based: curriculum committees, site-council, tutor, and student-teacher mentor. Interests include: art, humane education, science, community projects and volunteering at an animal shelter. I am open to pursuing additional extracurricular activities that foster student learning.
