I believe that education should act as a mirror. Essentially students should have an opportunity to see themselves and their lives reflected in their studies in order to design a meaningful and relevant learning environment.

I graduated with honors from Spelman College with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. I then went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Education from Georgia State University. I currently hold a T5 Georgia teaching certificate. I am also gifted, AP Language, and AP Literature certified.

I have served as a high school literature for the past 9 years. During those 9 years I have taught all levels and all literature based subjects. (Honors, AP, College Prep)

I currently own my own custom accessories business. We design custom shoes, purses, jewelry, phone cases, etc. using rhinestones and other embellishments. I have also served as a Varsity cheer coach.
