EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My educational philosophy is to challenge students and watch them grow to their full potential. I want to take students at different levels and see them develop together for the betterment of each individual.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I am well qualified for this position, possessing a Bachelor of Science in Education as earned from UTEP in 1991.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My experiences as an instructor, substitute, tutor and student teacher have afforded me the opportunity to interact with diverse student populations as I have taught ESL within local middle and high schools in addition to teaching the ESL Special Education program. My secondary teaching experience includes teaching within the local community college system. I provided high-interest learning material, multiple means of assessment and instruction, as well as the careful modeling and scaffolding of new skills, I striving to ensure that every student achieves excellence.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I used to sponsor the high school cheerleading team and Junior Class. I also participated as a volunteer in community service programs to include Coats for Kids, various Career Day activities, the Paso Del Norte Food Bank and many other noteworthy community charities. My considerable level of experience, knowledge and ability to make an immediate positive impact would be of benefit to The El Paso Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas.
I also possess a strong background in leadership, self accountability, staff management and a decisive, responsive and strategic commitment to my students utilizing “best practice” philosophies as well as a strong track record in accomplishing goals and meeting deadlines to the expectations of internal colleagues and most importantly, my students.
