EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
All children can learn. With genuine care and determination learning can come to life and enable every child’s success. Children with special needs or those who have experienced learning problems, may need different strategies or materials in order to spark the joy of mastering new skills.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and am a certified teacher in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Virginia. I have experience working with both general education students and special education students. I am now a retired teacher who has been teaching since the 1980s.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am a Special Educator with over 30 years of experience in the classroom and the tutoring world. My specialty is working with young learners who struggle with early literacy and numeracy. I have experience with mentally challenged, physically disabled, and autistic youngsters.
I have taught mildly-profoundly disabled children in the classroom in Georgia and in Virginia. I have online instructor experience as well. I have worked with disadvantaged children and special needs learners in an online tutoring setting.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
During my classroom time in Virginia, I was the Special Olympics coach at my school. Our team participated annually in the track and field competition at the county level.
