My educational philosophy is to enrich each student I encounter, open their worlds to new ways to look at things, educate them about the importance of listening and addressing the stream of conversation specifically (i.e., stay on topic) and make progress in whatever area they are experiencing difficulty.

I received a B.A. in Education and Psychology from the University of Iowa, then received a Master’s degree at Portland State University in 1987. I have also completed post-Master’s work in Speech and Language Pathology.

I began teaching in a private school in California. I then moved to teaching 2nd grade at American School of Kuwait. From there, I became Reading Tutor in Lancaster County, PA, then worked as an ESL teacher in Oregon. I have been working as a Speech Pathologist since 1990.

I enjoy exercising, joining in interest groups, traveling and reading.
