About Me

I believe that all students are capable of learning to their fullest potential. I believe that all students are unique and that a teacher must be willing to cater to each students strengths and weaknesses in order for them to achieve success. It is important to gain a positive relationship with students, learning their interest, and using that relationship to create a positive and enriching environment for all students.

I attended the Concurrent Education Program at Brock University in which I spent 5 years learning about the development of children and its relationship to education. Majoring in Child and Youth studies, I have been educated on the diverse spectrum of student abilities and the best way to assist all students. I have not only gained this knowledge but have also been able to apply it to real life scenarios. Through my education, I have also been give the opportunity to communicate and collaborate with numerous child educators which has helped me shape my philosophy of education.

In teachers college I was given the opportunity to partake in two placements in Ontario public schools. I was the teacher of a Grade 3 classroom where I planned, delivered and reviewed Language, Math, Science and Social Studies lessons. I was also the student teacher in a 4/5 Classroom where again I created, delivered and reviewed Math, Language, Science, and Health lessons. I have also supplied in a 6/7/8 ESL classroom.

I strongly believe that extracurriculars is an important aspect of education and can help foster skills that can be used in and outside of the classroom. I enjoy playing and coaching volleyball and believe that learning how to work together as a team encourages team work and problem solving skills.
