EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe in empowering students to become life-long learners. I love the quote from Howard Gardner which states, “We are who we teach.” Students need ‘roots’ to set a foundation and then they need ‘wings’ to reach their dreams!
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended The Ohio State University where I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. I then attended Ohio University where I received my Master degree in Special Education k-12 and my certification in early childhood disabilities. I have also recently taken classes on-line at Baker University to re-license in the state of KS.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have 10 years of experience teaching in an early childhood disabilities classroom. I have also been an intervention specialist at the elementary level; a tutor at the middle school level and I have put together and supervised an internship program at the high school level.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am co-leader for a boy scout troop. I assisted with student council at both the high school and middle school level. I have also helped with many fundraisers at the elementary level.
