EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Education is the discovery and exploration of identifying, naming and giving value to what we take in. As the instructor I have the Common Core & Grade Level Expectations for the road map, but I believe as the facilitator, there is more than one route to prove proficiency in a content area.
I am a firm believer in building lessons from a students passions and strengths along the way. Academics must include rigor, relevancy and relationship.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership. I am certified to teach in the state of Michigan.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been an educator for over 12 years. I have taught anything from Migrant Adults, to young fives, a college course, graduation requirements/career exploration, 4th grade, elementary science and credit recovery coursework.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have coached students through college and career exploration as a school counselor. I have coached students through interns, work studies, and job shadowing in order to explore a career path.
