About Me

My ambition to teach stems from my desire to make a difference in others? lives and is a personal expression of my own professional goals. I desire to provide the students with knowledge that will empower them to be successful in achieving their goals as I display an attitude of gratitude by giving back to others and to the community. My perseverance and dedication of achieving higher education will be displayed in my commitment to helping others achieve in higher learning also. I am strong, compassionate, and excited about teaching others; as I realize teaching is a lifelong process of learning. Also, I firmly believe that every student is unique and has some potential that can be evolved and improved with efforts of the teachers.

I completed my Doctoral of Education in Organizational Leadership, to include a Dissertation, on July 1, 2013, from Argosy University. I completed 60 credit hours, with a 3.96 GPA. I completed my Master of Science in Administration with a concentration in Human Resources in August 2009 from Central Michigan University and graduated with a 3.5 GPA. Prior to that, I completed my Business of Science in Psychology and Human Services degree in December 2007 from Clayton State University.

My teaching experience began back while I was in the U.S. Army in 1988 as a Squad Leader and Section Chief of approximately six subordinates. In my current position, I train, teach, coach, mentor, and empower approximately 40 team members comprised of health scientists, students, and contractors in administrative processes and procedures. Also, I serve as a management analyst, advisor, and subject matter expert in personnel administration.

I maintain knowledge and experience to interpret and apply federal Human Resources laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in support of a variety of program human resources functions: recruitment/placement, benefits, staffing, employee relations, and position classification. I provide Human Resources consultant/advisory services to managers, supervisors, employees, and applicants in the areas of benefits, staffing, recruitment, and placement.

My extracurricular activities consist of reading. I also mentor young high school students who are venturing toward working in the Federal Government. I work with students at my church in mentoring and teaching them life skills and leadership skills.
