Get Your Child Ready for the IAR and ISA
SchoolTutoring Academy’s IAR and ISA Tutoring Programs start with an ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT with an Academic Director. This assessment informs your child’s tutor about their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses so the tutoring program can be tailored to their specific needs. Our IAR and ISA Tutoring Programs include regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.
Call our Academic Directors today at 1-877-545-7737 to get started with an IAR or ISA tutor.
The ISA and IAR replaced the now obsolete ISAT and PSAE programs.

Understanding
the IAR and ISA
The Illinois Assessment of Readiness is made up of several assessments beginning in 3rd grade. Students are assessed in mathematics and English language arts (ELA) each year from 3rd to 8th grade. Additionally, students are also required to take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) in 5th, 8th, and 11th grade. IAR and ISA assessments typically occur each year in March or April. Students with significant cognitive disabilities may also take the Dynamic Learning Maps Alternate Assessment (DLM-AA) as an alternative to the IAR and ISA. For more information on the IAR and ISA you can visit the Illinois State Board of Education website.
