Get Your Child Ready for MCAP Assessments
SchoolTutoring Academy’s MCAP Tutoring Programs start with an ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT with an Academic Director. This assessment informs your child’s MCAP tutor about their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses so the tutoring program can be tailored to their specific needs. Our MCAP Tutoring Program includes regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.

Understanding
the MCAP
Maryland state testing begins in 3rd grade as part of the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program. From 3rd-8th grade, students complete tests annually in ELA and Mathematics. Additionally, 5th and 8th grade students take the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) and 8th grade students must also complete an assessment in Social Studies. Once in high school, students must complete the Life Science MISA, along with assessments in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, ELA (10th grade), and Government. The successful completion of these tests with a sufficient score is a graduation requirement. For more information on the MCAP you can visit the Maryland State Department of Education website.
