Understanding
the NH SAS
New Hampshire state testing begins in 3rd grade. Elementary testing in English Language Arts and Mathematics occurs yearly from 3rd to 8th grade via the New Hampshire Statewide Assessment Program (NH SAS). Students also take Science assessments in 5th and 8th grade. Once in high school, students gain take a final NH SAS Science assessment in 11th grade.
