Get Your Child Ready for NYSTP Assessments
SchoolTutoring Academy’s NYSTP Tutoring Programs start with a ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT with an Academic Director. This assessment informs your child’s NYSTP tutor about their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses so the tutoring program can be tailored to their specific needs. Our NYSTP Tutoring Program includes regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.

Understanding
the NYSTP
The NYSTP is made up of several assessments beginning as early as Kindergarten. From Kindergarten, the NYSITELL identifies English language learners are identified who are then tested annually with the NYSESLAT. Starting in 3rd grade through to high school graduation, students are tested Language Arts, Science, Social Sciences, and Mathematics. Passing the Regents exams is a requirement for high school students to receive their diploma. The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) also selects some schools and students are also selected for additional testing. Finally, students may perform Field Tests associated with NYSTP assessments to aid in development of future assessments. For more information on the NYSTP system you can visit the New York State Education Department website.
