Understanding
PLANS Assessments
The Program of Learning Assessment for Nova Scotia (PLANS) administers provincewide assessments for all students starting in grade 3. In grades 3 (LM3), 6 (RWM6), and 8 (RWM8) students’ reading, writing, and mathematics abilities are assessed. High school students must complete the Nova Scotia Examinations (NSE) in English 10 and Mathematics 10. French immersion versions of all of these assessments and examinations are available for French immersion students. For more information on PLANS you can visit the Nova Scotia website.
