Get Your Child Ready for the PSSA

SchoolTutoring Academy’s PSSA Tutoring Programs start with an ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT with an Academic Director. This assessment informs your child’s PSSA tutor about their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses so the tutoring program can be tailored to their specific needs. Our PSSA Tutoring Program includes regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.

Understanding
the PSSA

The PSSA is made up of several assessments beginning in 3rd grade. Students are assessed in mathematics and English language arts (ELA) each year from 3rd to 8th grade. Additionally, students are assessed in science in 4th grade and 8th grade. PSSA assessments typically occur each year in late April or early May. Additionally, high school students take keystone exams as end-of-course assessments in Algebra 1, Literature, and Biology as a graduation requirement. Keystone exams replaced the 11th grade PSSA. For more information on the PSSA you can visit the Pennsylvania Department of Education website.
