Understanding
Ohio State Tests
Ohio State Tests begin in 3rd Grade. From 3rd to 8th grade, students must take annual tests in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, along with Science tests in 5th and 8th grade. Throughout high school, students must also complete End-of-Course (EOC) tests in several subject areas spanning Mathematics, ELA, Social Studies, and Science. These tests are a graduation requirement. Additional and alternate assessments also exist for young learners, students with learning disabilities, and English language learners.
