Chalk Talk: Capstone Projects for ECCS Students

Eastern Carver County Schools requires its students to enroll in Capstone courses to challenge them beyond the standard curriculum. Capstone is a project that is centered around the students and they determine the focus and scope of the assignment. Students will learn to think analytically to solve programs of today and the future. Capstone projects also teach students independence, self-reliance and accountability even though they are supported by teachers, a career resource center, counselors, and outside mentors. Students are encouraged to explore their passion and choose from arts and communication, global studies, health /social sciences and STEM. Whether they opt to build something, compose a musical piece, or organize a cultural celebration, students will have hands on learning which will prepare them for a successful life after graduation.
