Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Cheyenne District Curriculum

Everyday Math is the math program used for grades K-6 to help students build computational and operational skills alongside their introduction to basic geometry and literacy with quantitative information. Various math resources are used for 7-12 grade, including Get the Math videos which promote more thoughts through algebra, and CMAST which teaches both math and science skills together. McDougal-Little, Glencoe, and Key Curriculum Press are also programs used in the upper math levels.

Common Core Standards are used for the Language Arts programs. Writing, reading, speaking, and listening are all covered under language arts curriculum. The outcome of what the students learn is emphasized over how the students learn. Literacy skills are taught throughout all subjects.
