- Costa Mesa High School Academies - Costa Mesa High School offers three Academies students may enter in the 10th grade. The focuses are on Creative Expression, Business, and Environmental and Marina Sciences. Students begin preparing for entry into these programs grade 9.
- Middle School Academies - The middle schools offer a distinct program for students in grade 7 that is highly focused on the social and educational needs of students. Participation in this academy offers students a very tight-knit community with learning and other activities designed specifically for students in seventh grade.
- Extracurriculars - At the high school, students can begin to develop their unique talents and interests by joining one of the very many clubs that are available. There are ethnic-oriented clubs, academic-oriented clubs, game-oriented clubs, community-service oriented clubs.
