Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Costa Mesa District Curriculum

The specific skills for problem-solving in number problems, probability and statistics, algebra, and geometry are laid out in a yearly progression. These content areas bring about logical reasoning and problem-solving skills by providing a framework that carries knowledge throughout the courses which students take.

In Language Arts, the curricular framework provides for a vast array of communication and literacy skills. Reading of fiction and informational texts is emphasized alongside writing for different goals and audiences. Processes for writing and reading comprehension are taught which support learning in other subjects.
