Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Cudahy District Curriculum

The curriculum in Language Arts describes how to read literary and informational texts, write for a range of purposes, use a writing process, and to listen and speak with critical thinking skills. The Math curriculum describes the areas of numeracy, algebra, geometry and data analysis. In the Sciences, students learn about earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology.

The expectations laid out in the curriculum require that students use prior year's knowledge to develop more in-depth understanding of each subject. The statewide assessments given in core subjects are aligned to these expectations to ensure that students are achieving the expectations.

Cudahy District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The schools in Cudahy use the curriculum model set out in the Common Core Standards. The Common Core Standards are used in Math and Language Arts and they provide a year-by-year overview of the skills and knowledge students will develop in their subjects. Other core subjects follow a similar model.

We currently cover the following Cudahy-area school district: Los Angeles Unified School District.
