Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Downington District Curriculum
Students at the Downingtown Area School District have the unique opportunity, in middle and high school, to enroll in online courses. Since students learn in a variety of ways and settings, some find it easier to study in a cyber environment. Using this online program, students are still able to have access to school activities and a local diploma, but they can take advantage of the flexibilities and various learning methods utilized through online learning.
World Languages is becoming more and more important in our world, and global economy, today. With that in mind, Downingtown Area School District offers World Language classes from grade six through grade twelve. They start with basic knowledge of world languages and are then able to specify and diversify depending on their interests. My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!

Chalk Talk: The Importance of Being Able to Give a Speech
Most of us remember speech class and still don’t like the memory of it. There are, however, many important lessons taught through speech and communications classes. Many of us may not have to give a speech in front of thousands of people. But most people, at some point in their life, will need to communicate information to others, whether they know them or not. Speech and communications classes teach this skill, even though the application of that skill is done in the form of a formal speech. It is important for students to understand how to formulate their thoughts into a way that makes sense to others. It is also a good thing for students to learn how to conquer a very real fear of talking in front of people. Whether they have to present a speech in the future, or simply have to step out and do something that intimidates them, knowing they were able to conquer their fear and give a speech can help them with that. These are just a few of the reasons which speech and communications classes are beneficial for students.
