Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Doylestown District Curriculum
Third graders take a hands-on science assessment where they are asked to perform experiments and analyze the data that they collect from those experiments. Sixth graders show their skills in writing and speaking along with their knowledge of how to research and manage their time. Ninth graders must show present a project which shows their capabilities in research, presentation of material as well as critical thinking through the analyzing of various perspectives.
All high school students must write a career plan prior to graduation. This is a large product worked on over the course of three years and details their career-related experiences and goals. The process includes taking surveys and studying profiles to discover their individual interests and strengths, completing an essay which describes their career and college plans, and finally completing a resume and job application to show competence in these basic and very necessary life skills.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!

Chalk Talk: How to Help Your Child with Time Management
With so many demands from school coupled with extra-curricular activities and sports, it can be difficult for your child to balance and prioritize their time. As their parent, you can help them with this. Encourage activities that interest your child. Ask them what they most want to be involved in. Make sure they understand that they are free to do activities outside of school, but not at the expense of the time that they need for study, rest and free time. Help them to prioritize by listing the things they would like to do in order from most important to least important. Depending on the age of your child, this list may change order as they experience different things. Help your child with homework, but also help them out and encourage them in their other endeavors. If they need someone to throw them a ball to practice hitting do that. If they need help with a competition project, provide that. Also, keep your own priorities in balance so that your child learns from you.
