Educating Our Parents: Understanding the East Granby District Curriculum

Beginning in primary and intermediate school, students explore a variety of academic content areas such as mathematics, reading, language arts, science, and social studies. Students are also involved in transitional programs that help them move from school to work via college, vocational school, or other avenues. Focus will be increasing the rigor in the curriculum. The result is graduates that have career specific knowledge and a well-defined plan for achieving their career goals.

In addition, students are exposed to physical education, library/media art, and music to enhance their educational experience. Those subject areas along with world languages, technology, and business education carry through middle and high school with advanced coursework being offered for those students who meet the requirements. An increased number of Advanced Placement courses will be offered this school year and the exploration of International Baccalaureate courses is being researched.
