Educating Our Parents: Understanding the El Centro District Curriculum

In Language Arts, standards are established for the development of reading strategies, writing strategies and critical thinking and speaking skills. In Mathematics, the standards set teach subject-level skills within geometry and measurement, probability and statistics, algebra and advanced topics in math.  The Science curriculum lays out the processes inherent to science, and the knowledge and principles that students will come to understand within the various fields of science.

The curricular framework is a guide by which teachers plan instructional objectives and by which assessments are developed. Students are required to meet the objectives in order to be prepared for the next level of their education. With a wealth of special programs and extracurricular activities, and a community that offers a great deal of support for its young people, students have all the resources they need for success.
