Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Gilroy District Curriculum

The math curriculum details the framework for learning mathematical problem-solving skills within the different sub-topics of math like algebra, geometry, statistics, and more advanced topics. The Science curriculum provides the framework for teaching the principles of science, the processes, and its universal knowledge.

In Language Arts, students are provided a basis for communication skills and literacy strategies which support learning across the curriculum. The focus is on reading all types of texts, writing for differing purposes, expressing ideas and listening openly to others' ideas. For students who decide to participate in an academy style program or charter school, the curriculum provides for a similar understanding of what the goals of the program are and what steps will be taken to achieve those goals.
