Rolling is a type of college applications usually offered by colleges considered mid-level in terms of selectivity. Essentially, the college opens to applications at a certain date and ends at a certain date, usually a pretty broad range. Students are free to apply at any point during this time. The fundamental difference between this and other application types is that colleges will read the applications as soon as they receive them and send a decision typically within two to three weeks. With other application types, colleges generally won’t decide on the applications until after the deadline has passed. Rolling also lacks restrictions, which makes it a very appealing option for many applicants.
