Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Hawaiian Gardens District Curriculum

In Language Arts, students develop knowledge about how to read read and write in a variety of genres, use a writing process, and many other communication strategies. The Math curriculum emphasizes key skills in the areas of numeracy, algebra, geometry and data analysis. In the Sciences, students learn about fundamental skills, processes of discovery, and principles of earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology.

For students who choose to enter a magnet program or other small learning community, the curriculum will lay out the expectations and the types of instructional strategies and experiences that may be brought in to enhance the students' learning experience.
