Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Hobart District Curriculum
In Kindergarten, topics in language arts that include speaking and listening, vocabulary, writing, and reading will be introduced. This subject matter will be built upon as students advance in grade level. This curriculum requires students to dig deeper into the main subsets of Mathematics instead of touching on every subset that exists. The benefit of this curriculum is that it gives students a solid foundation in math on which they can build upon.
In grades 6-8 specifically, students will learn how to read and write for literacy in a variety of subjects, while algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus are offered at the high school level. College entrance exams such as the ACT and SAT are also prepared for in high school. The Hobart School District offers a variety of electives that will allow students to broaden their studies. Health and wellness is also given importance in the Hobart School District. Physical education classes are mandatory and classes on maintaining one's health and wellness.

SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Excelling in AP Classes
AP classes are created to be challenging but not impossible. Doing well in the classes and on the tests is an entirely realistic goal. Several tips can help high school students reach that objective. First, try not to procrastinate. If it helps, plan on giving yourself more time than you think you’ll need to finish assignments. This way, you’ll be able to work at your own speed and make sure you understand topics thoroughly. Trying new study methods can also help students excel. For example, if you’re used to studying alone, try getting together with classmates and starting a study group. Finally, if you find yourself falling behind or feeling confused about a certain topic, don’t hesitate to ask a teacher or a friend for help. They may have resources at their disposal that you hadn’t thought of using. Also, having information explained to you in a different way can sometimes shed light on complicated subjects. When it’s time to take the test, try not to worry. Focus and stay positive!
