Chalk Talk: Why Technology Is Critical to Education

We live in an increasingly technological world, and ensuring that students have early and often exposure to technology for learning purposes is critical for their development. Technology-rich classrooms get kids engaged in the learning process through active participation. Rather than sitting passively through a lecture, students can be immersed in photos, videos, or educational games that bring their learning to life. This is especially important because today’s students have grown up in a highly technological world, so integrating those technologies into the classroom allows students to use the technologies they are already familiar with to advance their knowledge of the world around them. Additionally, technology in the classroom prepares students for using technology in college and career. Many career fields require a deep understanding of technology, which students are able to develop in technology-rich classrooms.
