Educating Our Parents: Understanding the La Puente District Curriculum

The Language Arts curriculum details the communication skills of writing, speaking and listening while teaching strategies for reading across the content areas. In Math, the foundations for mathematical reasoning and logical thought are taught as students learn how to solve problems in geometry, numerical and algebraic operations, and advanced topics in math like calculus or trigonometry.

Other subjects like social studies, foreign languages and elective courses also provide a framework for mastering the content and principles of the subject. Each core curricular course helps students to understand the world and how to use analysis and reasoning to process new information.
