Lacey District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs
School curriculum in Lacey schools is based around the Washington State Standards and is written to ensure students in all grades meet the standards for their grade level. The English curriculum focuses on total literacy and starts in kindergarten with the alphabet, letter sounds, phonetics and writing. By the time students reach fifth grade, they are able to read for informational purposes and write an essay with topic and supporting sentences. The Math curriculum focuses on problem solving and computational awareness. Science starts in second grade with life science content and adds conceptual knowledge every year of elementary school.
We currently cover the following Lacey-area school districts: North Thurston Public School.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Lacey District Curriculum
The middle and high school curriculum continues to develop the foundational skills acquired in elementary school. Students continue to read both literary and informational texts and write analytic or persuasive essays based around the texts. In Math, students take Algebra 1 and Geometry in middle school or high school and are able to take upper division math classes after completing these courses. The district offers math classes up to Calculus and Advanced Placement Statistics and Advanced Placement coursework in the Sciences.
The curriculum is able to adapt and add courses and programs as needed. Technology is an example of how the curriculum responds to changes in the educational and career environment and prepares students to meet these expectations. Students are able to gain both skills and concept knowledge over their school years through the multitude of course options available. Students will also be able to have integrated learning experiences through the projects and authentic assessments they work on which bring together subjects of interest and relevance.
