Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Lake Forest District Curriculum

In Language Arts, content learning is based upon the reading of fiction and non-fiction, writing for a range of purposes, the writing process, and other communication strategies. In Math, the framework describes the skill sets and strategies necessary for numerical operations, geometry and measurement, algebra, and statistics and probability, and more complex mathematical topics.

The Science curriculum covers the fields of science organized around the idea of teaching the principles and processes of scientific inquiry as well as fundamental scientific knowledge that has been amassed.  The broad framework allows for teachers to creatively plan lessons and instructional approaches while ensuring that all students receive the same high-quality standards for instruction.
