Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Lincoln District Curriculum

In Math, students are instructed in numerical operations, algebraic operations, geometry and measurement, and statistics and probability each year. The Sciences target earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology. The curriculum framework helps to develop critical thinking, process-oriented, problem-solving and mathematical reasoning skills.

In Language Arts, the curriculum emphasizes reading literary and informational texts, writing and revising processes, listening, and speaking. Other programs provide curriculum that similarly describe the major learning areas of the subject and the skills involved. These curriculum are prepared so that students are meeting all the goals required to be proficient in their subjects. In foreign language courses, students work on speaking and writing done on a presentational level, and in which students develop visual and written materials to support an oral presentation in their language of study.
