Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Lomita District Curriculum

Instruction in Language Arts details the strategies students will gain to read fictional and informational texts, develop a writing process, and to communicate while employing critical thought. The Math curriculum provides the grade-level expectations that students build their problem-solving strategies upon. These are all developed within the different fields of math, and so the skills learned in geometry or algebra can be applied to learning challenges in science and technology.

Students become prepared to take on advanced courses as they multiply the learning and thinking strategies they are able to use. The curriculum for the later years of high school offers a number of highly focused and specialized courses for students to challenge themselves with, and succeed.
