Sweaty Palms, Thrumming heart, rapid breathing... Yep, your child might have a case of test anxiety. That's okay, many test takers get nervous, some even get sick. Here are some steps to help overcome this common problem. Step one; calm down. Instruct your child to begin by taking some deep breaths. Tell them to center their thoughts. Tell them to follow the steps. Now, read a question. What two answers make no sense at all? Those we now know are completely wrong so we can ignore them. What answer do you feel is correct? Can you think of a reason why? Then chances are that is the right answer. Try not to second guess yourself. Simply take it one question at a time and narrow down the choices. In no time at all your child will be a test taking professional.
