At the elementary level, students complete coursework in reading, English/Language Arts, mathematics, science, social studies, world language, health, and music. Students also participate in library/media, physical education, and music. Marlborough School District works to inspire wonder, awe, and curiosity in young minds.
In Science, students learn about earth, life, environmental and physical science. They study the types of energy are studied as well, including how energy can be transferred and transformed. Forces and motion are included in the curriculum as well. Students acquire an understanding of velocity and displacement, as well as how forces affect motion. Students also examine the ways in which humans have manipulated their environment to meet their needs, and discuss the positive and negative impacts these manipulations have on natural resources. A discussion of resources is also undertaken, including the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources and the advantages and disadvantages of both.
