Mercer Island District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

Mercer Island follows the Washington State Standards in all grade levels and in core subjects. In order to meet these standards, the district has adopted curriculum that encourages writing and communicating across the disciplines. The curriculum page of the district website also includes a wealth of information for parents to help their child succeed.

In elementary school, students cover the basics of math and English, and begin receiving content instruction in science in kindergarten. English Language Arts curriculum starts in kindergarten with letter sound recognition and observing their surroundings as a basis for writing. As the elementary curriculum progresses, students learn how to read for pleasure and information. Students are also able to write a well-developed paragraph before moving to middle school. The Math Expressions curriculum used in grades K-5 focuses on mathematic fluency and communication.

We currently cover the following Mercer Island-area school districts: Mercer Island School District.
