Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Minot District Curriculum

The Language Arts and Reading curriculum is dedicated to consistent reading progression through exposure to numerous literary texts. Students are provided with specific grade-level appropriate major literary texts for each educational school year. Students are also encouraged to engage in the research and writing processes through hands on projects and presentations. Ultimately these activities are expected to strengthen the students' ability to communicate in an effective and precise manner.

The Science curriculum functions in tandem with the student's mathematical education which provides the analytical tools for measured scientific inquiry. Students are expected to identify and understand unifying concepts in the areas of physical, life, and earth sciences. By achieving comprehension of basic scientific principles, students are encouraged to explore the relationship between science and technology.
