Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Molalla District Curriculum

The Math curriculum teaches students problem-solving skills involving number systems, algebra, geometry and measurement, and data analysis. Each of these are introduced to students during elementary and middle school before becoming full year courses in high school. Students are also expected to develop their quantitative and logical reasoning skills, the ability to understand how to solve any type of math problem, and the ability to communicate their mathematic thinking.

The Science curriculum involves topics ranging from earth, life and physical science to more current offerings in environmental science, engineering, and technology. Students learn principles and content knowledge in each of their courses which is compounded by their learning about the scientific method for investigating natural phenomenon. They learn how to design experiments, formulate hypotheses, and how to present their scientific conclusions using different media and technology.
