Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Mount Pleasant District Curriculum
Elementary grades are an introduction to new skills and ideas, helping K-6 students gain experience and master concepts, to then build on as they develop. Junior high grades are centered on the educational needs of adolescents as they transition between elementary school and high school. High school years are an opportunity for students to select courses and electives specific to potential college and career interests, developing necessary skills for entering the workforce.
Instruction focuses on research-based standards in literacy, mathematics and essential concepts and skills in the subjects of science and social studies. Instruction also emphasizes learning and application of 21st century skills-civic and financial literacy and responsibility, technology literacy and employability skills. In high school, students are encouraged to begin looking at career opportunities and are given the opportunity to take part in the many advanced learning opportunities the District offers, including college success seminars and information about colleges and their degrees.

SchoolTutoring Academy Increased My SAT Score By 200 Points
My son’s math marks in high school have always been weak so I found it very beneficial that his ACT tutor worked on solidifying his fundamentals while prepping for the ACT.
SchoolTutoring Academy gave my daughter the confidence she needed to boost her SAT score Thank you!
SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Last Month of Summer
By August, children and parents may be getting antsy for some sort of routine. Camps may be ending, travels may include one more family trip and talk of school registration or orientations becomes more of a common topic. The last few weeks of summer can be bittersweet for the whole family – consider planning together a special activity the whole family can look forward as the summer ends. Including your children or teens in the planning process will add to the enjoyment of the activity. Consider a local place the family hasn’t been to or hasn’t been to in a while or a family activity you once all did together but have since not made time for it. You can also plan a weekly activity or small drive somewhere close in creating more enjoyment as the summer winds down. The time spent with together will be appreciated as the routine of school comes upon you quickly.
